Game #16-Los Angeles Clippers

LA Clippers vs Charlotte Bobcats
Staples Center
February 28, 2009

Headed up to LA, and of course sat in a ton of traffic. This time a large metal bar was laying in the middle of the freeway and the CHP closed the entire freeway down to remove the debris…good times. Anyway we finally got up to the Staples center and I totally forgot about the parking situation there. It is funny, if you are 3 blocks from the arena parking is as low as $5 and each block you get closer the prices goes up in $5 increments. Literally a 3 minute walk will save you $20, weird. Kel and I met up with my buddy DI and his girlfriend Amanda at LA Live (kind of like Times Square) and got some food and Belgium beers at the Yardhouse. After dinner we headed to the game and had sick seats. Dead center, 15 rows up, ticket face value is $150 and I bought two for $50! The game was actually fairly exciting for two of the worst teams in the league. Byron Davis and Marcus Camby had crappy games, same with the newly traded Radmonivich, but Zach Randolph broke the 40 point mark and the game came down to the last play. The Clips were down 98-95 with 18 seconds left. They got a steal in the defensive end, drove up court, and settled for a 35 foot three pointer that came up about 4 feet short. Poor Clipper fans, honestly did they ever really have a chance? Funny thing is they just beat the second best team in the league (Celtics) two days ago, oh well… Highlight of the game, being on the jumbo tron. The kids in front of us were dancing around and doing a poor job so I had to kick it up a notch. Gave the crowd a couple moves then did the lightning bolt pose! Ah good times.

Notes on the arena: Please see the LA Lakers or the LA Kings, all share the Staples Center.
